48-Hour Miracle: A Home Built with Sweat and the Gospe

During the October Thanksgiving, the CCM Toronto Centre witnessed an extraordinary transformation took place in just 48 hours.

Twenty-two short-term mission team members from the U.S., including 13 teenagers, spent two full days repairing, repainting, rebuilding, and reorganizing our centre. They didn’t just see worn-out walls or aging equipment, but they saw a future home where people could find comfort, hope, and renewed strength.

When the final wooden panel was installed, we stood in silence, overwhelmed with gratitude. Hidden beneath the stage, the team placed several Bible verses—quiet reminders that every testimony shared from that platform will rest on the truth of God’s Word.

The renovation, however, was only the beginning. The team also stepped into Fraquharson Park, greeting and connecting with over 350 neighbors. Some even learned simple Chinese phrases, hoping to share Christ’s love in a way that felt familiar to the community. Their cross-cultural courage reminded us that God’s love reaches the heart faster than any language can.

In these 48 hours, we witnessed more than a renovated space, but renewed hearts: theirs, ours, and those in our community.

The CCM Toronto Centre is not merely a centre. It is the starting point of blessings in motion.

The Heart of Urban Mission: Strengthening One Another with Hope

Every day at the centre, we encounter stories that quietly touch our hearts.

Our volunteers welcome neighbors with patience, professionalism, and warm smiles. Yet behind those smiles are real challenges—caring for ill family members, facing job loss, or walking through emotional or family pressures. And still, they choose to serve. They are not “angels without wounds,” but faithful servants who love others even while carrying their own burdens.

Recently, a simple yet powerful moment reminded us what “life touching life” looks like.

A young volunteer who had just joined our team would always receive a freshly made cup of milk tea from a staff member. It wasn’t just a drink, but a message: “I see you. You’re not alone.” When that staff member was away for a few weeks, we were surprised to find that same young volunteer standing in the kitchen, making milk tea for everyone else.

A loved heart becomes a loving heart.

At last Saturday’s Volunteer Appreciation Gathering, we shared one message with our beloved volunteer family:

“Today, let us serve you.”

Because what they offer is not leftover time, but a willing heart even in exhaustion. They give not from strength alone, but from faithfulness in weakness.

May they know: the Lord sees every sacrifice, and their stories are quietly transforming this city.

Guarding the Next Generation: Lighting the Way of Truth

Today’s youth live in a world of overwhelming voices and constant pressure.
Parents try to connect, but children often respond, “I don’t want to talk about it.”

Behind the silence lies a deep need of longing to be heard, understood, guided, and loved.

That is why the No Apologies program is more than a curriculum. It is a doorway into young hearts. Through discussions on boundaries, respect, personal value, and wise choices, we have seen youth begin to understand:

“I am loved, and I am worthy of making mature decisions.”

One mother shared:

“My son and I had a long, meaningful conversation that evening.
He really connected with what he learned and felt he gained so much.
Thank you for the care and sincerity you put into this program.”

Such transformation is the fruit of our volunteer coaches who give their time after long workdays, pray faithfully, and walk alongside youth with patience and love.

Our hope is not merely for young people to “behave well,” but for them to discover truth, value, and direction.

As we believe that when the next generation stands firm in truth, the future of our city is illuminated.

Praise & Prayer

  • Praise God for His provision through the mission team, enabling a smooth renovation and revealing His work every step of the way.
  • Pray that the seeds planted through the mission team will continue to touch many hearts.
  • Pray for God to bring the right servants to join our team, as we are currently seeking a Youth & Young Adult Ministry Coordinator and a Caring & Counseling Ministry Coordinator.
  • Pray for continued financial provision as we approach the end of 2025, trusting God to supply every need for the ministry He has entrusted to us.
